The artifact is a dirty shadow.

Explanation

An acoustic shadow can be due to absorption or reflection. Gallbladder and renal calculi produce acoustic shadowing that are caused by absorption of the acoustic energy. In this example, the acoustic shadow is being produced by reflection of the acoustic energy as it hits the air in the bowel/stomach. This type of shadow is known as a dirty shadow.
