This course builds the foundational knowledge and hands‑on technique to perform bladder ultrasound confidently and accurately, from optimizing imaging settings and obtaining the correct scan views to calculating bladder volume and avoiding common pitfalls. You will learn when bladder volume estimation is indicated and how to perform it consistently at the point of care.

Course Learning Objectives

Do I need prior ultrasound experience to enroll in this program?
While prior ultrasound experience is beneficial, it is not required. The program is designed to accommodate learners with various levels of ultrasound experience.
The POCUS Fundamentals Certificate has to be successfully completed. A waiver is available for clinicians who have passed the Sonography Principles & Instrumentation (SPI) examination within the last 5 years or ARDMS®️ and APCA™️ Certificate holders.
How long does it take to complete the course?
The program is self-paced, but can be expected to take 30-45 minutes to complete. You will be given thirty (30) days from the date of purchase to complete the modules and summative assessment.
What if I don't pass the summative assessment?
You will have two opportunities to pass the summative assessment. If you do not pass with the first two attempts, you will need to reapply for the POCUS Bladder Volume Course. The full course fee is required with each reapplication.
