POCUS Fundamentals Certificate

New to POCUS? We recommend you start here.

The POCUS Fundamentals Certificate is a prerequisite to being able to take assessments for individual and advanced certifications.

POCUS Fundamentals Certificate

Combining learning modules and assessments along the way, the Fundamentals Certificate functions is an introductory course in POCUS with a focus on the basic physics and instrumentation of ultrasound.

For the Fundamentals Certificate to be awarded, a 2-part assessment must be passed. The first consists of 8 modules of interactive review and knowledge checks. The second is a set of 35 questions in multiple-choice format. Learn more.

The Fundamentals Certificate is a prerequisite for more advanced certifications, although may be waived for clinicians who have passed the Sonography Principles & Instrumentation (SPI) examination with the last 5 years or ARDMS® and APCA™ Certificate holders.
