POCUS Certification Academy Announces Partnership with University of Santo Tomas as Official POCUS Certifier

Manila, Philippines – The POCUS Certification Academy has been named the official point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) certifier for the University of Santo Tomas (UST), advancing ultrasound education and clinical training standards in the Philippines.
The partnership establishes POCUS Certification Academy as the certifying body across UST’s Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, integrating structured education and proficiency-based assessment into existing training programs. The collaboration is designed to standardize POCUS competency across faculty, residents, and medical students while aligning with internationally recognized benchmarks.
UST has made significant investments in simulation and ultrasound training infrastructure, positioning itself as a leader in modern medical education. By incorporating formal certification pathways, the university is strengthening its commitment to producing clinicians who are skilled in ultrasound-guided diagnosis and patient care.
As part of the collaboration, POCUS Certification Academy will support the implementation of consistent, objective standards for POCUS proficiency. These standards emphasize safe, effective, and evidence-based use of ultrasound, with the goal of improving diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes across UST-affiliated clinical settings.
