Ultrasound Unleashed: Crafting Engaging POCUS Games for Enhanced Learning

During this webinar we’ll explore innovative methods to enrich the POCUS education journey for learners, maximizing their learning experience. We’ll evaluate the potential of integrating Sonolympics into educational initiatives for undergraduate students, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel and firefighters, amplifying the accessibility and impact of POCUS education across diverse learner groups.

 

Learning objectives:

  1. Design and implement a dynamic “Sonolympics” program tailored for non-academic residency programs, community hospital education and prehospital EMS education fostering a competitive yet collaborative learning environment.
  2. Identify a variety of interactive games suitable for POCUS education, ranging from skill-building challenges to team-based competitions.

About Our Speaker

As the Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Director at Kingman Regional Medical Center since 2020, Dr. Heesun Choi brings expertise honed through an EM ultrasound fellowship at UC Irvine. With a passion for innovative education, she has organized three annual Sonolympics for the EM residency program at Kingman Regional Medical Center, along with two Sonolympics for AZ ITLS conferences targeting EMS professionals. Additionally, she has pioneered virtual escape rooms for POCUS, including the “Zombie Cruise Ship” virtual escape room. Her focus lies in cultivating a deeper appreciation for POCUS education and devising more engaging learning experiences.
