We’re excited to kick off a new project with the faculty of University of Santo Tomas to build their point-of-care (POCUS) capacity.
Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) is considered a sensitive modality to diagnose unilateral hydronephrosis – the dilatation of the major and or minor calyces and the renal pelvis due to an obstruction to the flow of urine from the pelvicalyceal system.
Free fluid from internal bleeding due to abdominal trauma can collect in the Morison’s pouch if the patient is in the supine position. Here we discuss how POCUS can be used to detect the pooling blood.
