Who’s excited for the 2022 POCUS World Conference? We here at the Point-of-Care (POCUS) Ultrasound Certification Academy™ are anticipating and thrilled to welcome our guests hailing from more than 53 countries. We look forward to learning with and from each attendee. September 16th and 17th cannot arrive soon enough!
While we wait for these approaching dates, we wanted to provide you with a preview of what to expect at this year’s premier global POCUS gathering!
All who have completed registration will receive access and login information from us on September 12th. So please be on the lookout. When you first login in, you will encounter our Welcome Lobby. Our very own Dale Cyr, CEO of Inteleos , delivers a message with you in mind. Also, in this lobby, a video providing instructions on how to use and get the most out of the event platform includes tips on navigation, scheduling meetings, accessing sessions, and maximizing virtual networking.
Don’t miss the “Happening Now” feature, highlighting what is occurring in real time. You’ll never have to wonder what is transpiring at any given moment. With one click, you will be in the know. Keynote speakers are also front and center. You can quickly learn more about them, discover the topic(s) they are covering, and what date and time their presentation(s) takes place. Additionally, you’ll find access to the other central online spaces imperative to your time at the conference.
Then there’s the Sessions Lobby which houses all things sessions related. You can view sessions by track, type, or date. They can also be filtered by audience, tracks, and session types. Select View Sessions and get access to all 43 sessions. Once you click on your session of choice, you can view the speaker’s profile, which includes their bio, any other presentation the speaker is hosting, and a method for messaging and connecting with the speaker.
During any live session, you can chat or schedule a meeting with other participants also in attendance. It is a great way to connect with like-minded community members at the conference. Your confirmed meeting date and time will be housed in your My Schedule section. This calendar houses the sessions you identified as must-attend and any appointments you booked within the platform. All of which can be uploaded to your personal calendars, such as Outlook, Google, or iCloud.
Want to spend time with an exhibitor? Then enter the Exhibit Hall, where you’ll see a dashboard of logos representing the conference exhibitors. Click on the logo to enter their virtual booth. There you’ll find videos, various resources, and handouts to assist with learning more about vendors joining us in our POCUS excursion. You may choose to chat live with the exhibitor or set up a time to connect later.
As you can see, our virtual environment offers plenty of ways to connect. Opportunities to do so widen with our Community Lobby. If you want to get more than a snapshot of all the attendees, speakers, and exhibitors, you can find a full-picture view in this lobby. Get access to everyone who has joined in this global affair. Find out who’s an ambassador, first-time attendee, student/resident, or educator. All guests are asked about their interests while at the event. Filter and find those seeking to gain the same value from their experience as you.
To ensure networking is an organic occurrence at the conference, the Networking Lobby details our Virtual Challenge, a set of activities used to earn you points and win you prizes, all to ensure you are fully engrossed in the opportunities to connect with your peers. Here you can also schedule time to meet privately with a coach. Yes, we’re bringing back our coaching session, offering facetime with a POCUS expert who can answer your most pressing POCUS questions.
What’s a conference without a little bit of fun? In addition to earning badges via the Virtual Challenge, you’ll find our Social Wall and POCUS World Photo Booth in the Networking Lobby. Anything you or another attendee post on social media, look for it on our social wall. That goes the same for our photo booth. Take a few pics and watch them show up in the collection of images pinned to our photo board. You may also download any photos you take and add them to your own social environment!
Speaking of capturing moments, you don’t have to wait to begin yours with us. When you receive your login information on September 12th, that’s when exploration begins. You can access the virtual environment of POCUS World before the event officially starts. Go in, set up your profile, customize your schedule, and get familiar with the lay of the land. Just because POCUS World is virtual doesn’t mean you can wait until the last minute to prepare. Get ready, and we will see you there!
