In case you missed it, the Point-of-Care Ultrasound Certification Academy™ held its inaugural POCUS Fest on May 11 at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. 300 medical students and residents attended the immersive ultrasound experience, which included an introduction to the world of handheld ultrasound, lectures, and demonstrations by certification academy clinicians. It was a resounding success—so much so in fact, that we are excited to announce our second event.

Join us for our next POCUS Fest on Saturday, September 21 at West Virginia University, one of the premiere simulation centers in the United States, for a half-day of point-of-care ultrasound, hands-on collaboration. We want to bring as many great minds together to share in the mission of improving global health, advancing standards, and exchanging varied ideas and experiences. This is an extraordinary opportunity to see POCUS in action while networking with peers in an informal and highly advanced technological setting. And it gets better—the event is free.

With the POCUS Fest initiative, we aim to deliver an educational platform for meaningful engagement with practitioners, partners, volunteers, staff, and attendees. As the hub for point-of-care ultrasound, we feel strongly that the Point-of-Care Ultrasound Certification Academy is the steward of this community. We must ensure that future medical professionals are well prepared to deliver optimal patient care, particularly given the rate of speed that innovation is happening.

This is where POCUS Fest comes in. These events let us all connect and deepen already valuable relationships. Our intent is to bring together the practitioners that will yield meaningful solutions to some of today’s most pressing challenges. The end goal, of course, is to advance global health and support and build a global POCUS community. We need you to make this happen.

Join us this September in West Virginia. Space is limited, so register here by 9/7/19.

See you in Mountaineer country!
