What is the application process for becoming a PEP?

Applicants will be authorized as PEPs upon :
(1) successful completion of the application.
(2) successful approval of business, course, and trainer reviews.
(3) signing and submitting the corresponding current form of the POCUS Education Provider Policy Handbook and POCUS Education Provider Agreement.
What are the application requirements to become a PEP?

All the following must be completed at the time of application:

  • Complete application.
  • Submit a high resolution of company logo
  • Curriculum Vitae for Medical/Clinical person responsible for the POCUS clinical educational content.
  • POCUS program curriculum
  • Sample course materials (e.g. workbooks, slide decks, etc.)
  • Disclosure of any substantiated consumer complaint, privacy violation, or legal action.
  • Payment of required fees.
When is the application period?

Applications are accepted year-round.

Annual renewals are required by January 31st each year to maintain status as a PEP provider.

Application Requirements

The purpose of annual application and renewal of your PEP status is to:

  • Recognize your commitment to ongoing improvement in the development and delivery of POCUS education.
  • Ensure that your organization is operating in alignment with the POCUS Certification Academy mission and vision, as well as PEP Guiding Principles.
  • Assist learners in identifying training companies or individuals who comply with PEP Program requirements.

The information required in your PEP Renewal application is intended to achieve these goals. Application and renewal are from the time of approval until the open renewal period of the following year. PEP provider application information and supporting documentation will be reviewed on an annual basis and must be approved by The POCUS Certification Academy prior to annual approval of PEP status. All application information, supporting documentation, and payment is required before annual PEP status is awarded.

Renewal Requirements

PEP providers must renew their status on an annual basis. All the following must be completed at the time of renewal application:

  1. Complete renewal application.
  2. Roster and student evaluations from all students from two (2) separate courses.
  3. Reports of any changes to curriculum or faculty.
  4. Changes to faculty must be accompanied by new faculty CV or resume.
  5. Changes to curriculum must include mapping of new content to learning objectives.
  6. Disclosure of any substantiated consumer complaint, privacy violation, or legal action.
  7. Payment of required fees.
Application and Renewal Annual Fee Requirement

Fees quoted are based on the introductory pricing structure effective as of July 1, 2020 and are subject to change.

Application Fee

  • $350 nonrefundable fee is required for application and every 3 years at reapplication.

Annual Fee

  • This fee is due by January 31st of each year to maintain PEP status.
  • $850 annual provider fee is due upon application approval and will be prorated, if needed, upon initial application.
When will my company be notified of PEP status?
Notification of your application status will be sent within 10 business days after receipt of your application and application fees.
